The Solar Ear company brings affordable hearing aids to more than 60 countries. In many countries, deaf cannot afford hearing aids or batteries. Meanwhile, the Solar Ear hearing aids cost about $100 US dollars each. The aids also use solar energy to recharge their batteries. As a result, a single battery lasts two to three years. In addition Solar Aid employs deaf people in Botswana, Brazil, and China. Deaf people make the affordable hearing aids and batteries.
