Learn basic information about deafness and hearing loss, for people new to deafness. Some of the resources at the link explain different types of deafness and available technologies. Many  resources are helpful in any country. However, a few resources are mainly about deafness in South Africa. Also, this resource library leaves out some important information. For example, there is little mention of sign language. However, sign language is important for communication, cognitive and academic skills. The University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, provides the resource collection.

The website is accessible for people using screen reading software with minimal difficulty.
